How to Bridge to Monad

Learn how to bridge assets to Monad to start using Mobots.

๐ŸŒ‰ Why Bridge to Monad?

To use Mobots and trade on Monad, you need MON (Monad's native token) on the Monad network. Bridging allows you to transfer assets from other blockchains to Monad quickly and securely.

๐ŸŽฏ What You'll Need

  • Wallet with funds on a supported chain (Ethereum, Arbitrum, etc.)
  • Small amount for gas fees on source chain
  • 2-5 minutes for the bridge transaction

๐Ÿš€ Quick Bridge Guide

Step 1: Access deBridge

Click the button below to open deBridge with Monad pre-selected:

Step 2: Connect Your Wallet

  1. Click "Connect Wallet" in the top right
  2. Select your wallet provider (MetaMask, WalletConnect, etc.)
  3. Approve the connection

Step 3: Select Source Chain

From (Source Chain):

  • Choose the blockchain where you currently have funds
  • Popular options: Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base

Common source chains:

  • ๐Ÿ”ท Ethereum - Most secure, higher fees
  • ๐Ÿ”ต Arbitrum - Lower fees, fast
  • ๐Ÿ”ด Optimism - Low fees, reliable
  • ๐ŸŸฆ Base - Very low fees

Step 4: Select Destination (Monad)

To (Destination Chain):

  • Should already be set to Monad (Chain ID: 143)
  • If not, select Monad from the dropdown

Step 5: Enter Amount

  1. Select the token you want to bridge (ETH bridges to MON on Monad)
  2. Enter the amount to bridge
  3. See the estimated MON you'll receive
  4. Check the estimated time (usually 2-10 minutes)

Recommended amounts:

  • ๐Ÿงช Testing: 0.01 - 0.1 ETH (becomes MON)
  • ๐Ÿ’ฐ Active Trading: 0.5 - 1 ETH (becomes MON)
  • ๐Ÿ‹ Heavy Use: 1+ ETH (becomes MON)

๐Ÿ’ก Tip: Always keep some ETH on your source chain for future bridges and gas fees! ETH bridges to MON (Monad's native token) on Monad.

Step 6: Review & Confirm

Before confirming, check:

  • โœ… Source chain is correct
  • โœ… Destination is Monad (143)
  • โœ… Amount is correct

Fee Breakdown

What you pay:

  • โ›ฝ Gas fees on source chain (varies)
  • ๐ŸŒ‰ Bridge fee (usually 0.1-0.5%)
  • ๐Ÿ’ฐ Network costs (minimal on Monad)

Cost examples:

  • Ethereum โ†’ Monad: $5-20 in gas + bridge fee
  • Arbitrum โ†’ Monad: $0.50-2 in gas + bridge fee
  • Base โ†’ Monad: $0.10-0.50 in gas + bridge fee

๐Ÿ’ฐ Money-Saving Tip: Bridge from Layer 2 chains (Arbitrum, Base, Optimism) to save on gas fees!

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Alternative Bridge Methods

Method 1: Direct RPC Bridge

If you're comfortable with MetaMask:

  1. Add Monad to MetaMask
  2. Use a bridge that supports custom RPCs
  3. Transfer directly

Method 2: Testnet Faucets

For smaller amounts and testing:

  1. Visit Monad faucet
  2. Enter your wallet address
  3. Receive free testnet ETH
  4. Perfect for initial testing!

Method 3: CEX Withdrawal (Future)

When Monad mainnet launches:

  1. Withdraw directly from exchange
  2. Select Monad network
  3. No bridge needed!

๐Ÿšจ Troubleshooting

Transaction Stuck

Problem: Bridge transaction not completing

Solutions:

  • โฐ Wait 15-20 minutes (sometimes networks are congested)
  • ๐Ÿ” Check transaction status on source chain explorer
  • ๐Ÿ’ฌ Contact deBridge support if stuck for >1 hour
  • ๐Ÿ”„ Try increasing gas on next transaction

Wrong Amount Received

Problem: Received less than expected

Why it happens:

  • ๐ŸŒ‰ Bridge fees deducted
  • โ›ฝ Gas fees on destination
  • ๐Ÿ“Š Price fluctuations during transfer
  • ๐Ÿ’ฑ Slippage on token bridges

This is normal! The difference shown on deBridge preview accounts for these fees.

Funds Not Arriving

Problem: Bridge complete but no funds visible

Solutions:

  1. Check correct network - Ensure wallet is on Monad
  2. Refresh wallet - Sometimes takes a moment to update
  3. Check explorer - Verify transaction on Monad explorer (opens in a new tab)
  4. Import tokens - May need to manually add token to wallet
  5. Wait longer - Sometimes takes 10-15 minutes during high traffic

Gas Fee Too High

Problem: Can't afford gas fees

Solutions:

  • ๐Ÿ”ต Use Layer 2 chains (Arbitrum, Base) for cheaper fees
  • โฐ Bridge during off-peak hours (weekends, late night)
  • ๐Ÿ’ฐ Bridge larger amounts to make fees more worthwhile
  • ๐ŸŽ Wait for lower gas prices on Ethereum

โœ… Bridge Checklist

Before bridging, make sure:

  • Wallet has enough funds for amount + gas
  • Destination is set to Monad (143)
  • You've saved your wallet's private key
  • Amount is correct (check decimals!)
  • You have the bridge link: deBridge to Monad (opens in a new tab)

After bridging:

  • Transaction confirmed on source chain
  • deBridge shows "Complete" status
  • Funds visible in Monad wallet
  • Ready to use Mobots!

๐Ÿ” Security Best Practices

Stay Safe While Bridging

โœ… Do

โ“ Bridge FAQs

How long does bridging take?

Typically 2-10 minutes depending on source chain and network congestion. Ethereum takes longer (5-10 min), while Layer 2s like Arbitrum are faster (2-5 min).

Is bridging safe?

Yes! deBridge (opens in a new tab) is a reputable, audited bridge protocol. Always use the official link provided above and verify the URL.

What if my transaction fails?

Failed transactions are rare. If it happens, your funds remain on the source chain. Check the transaction hash for details and try again with higher gas.

Can I bridge tokens other than ETH?

Yes! deBridge supports multiple tokens. However, for Mobots, you primarily need MON (Monad's native token) for gas fees and trading. ETH bridges to MON on Monad.

Are there minimum/maximum amounts?

  • Minimum: Usually $10-20 worth (to cover fees)
  • Maximum: Depends on bridge liquidity (usually $10K+ available)

Can I bridge back to another chain?

Yes! Use the same deBridge interface but select Monad as source and your desired chain as destination.
